Newtek's "Intergalactic Techie Fest" gathered the faithful at SigGraph 2004. Ardent users raved on the products' continued advantage over other graphics content authoring tools.

In a person to person exlusive interview to Newtek founder and Chairman of the Board, Tim Jenison, stated that he is confident Newtek can continue, as it has in the past, for the next 8 years. Tim sees his product as empowering a wider class of creatives than other competing authoring tools. Tim agreed to James Massey's proposition that A-Class Hollywood feature film producers should solicit NewTek-empowered creatives to work up ideas on artistic directions for current projects in development, selecting good ideas and bringing the juried-best creatives into the project.

One longtime Newtek user and content creating entrepreneur, "Harlan"(see photo, Harlan is at the center; Robert Wilson, owner of Uncommon Grafx of Indianapolis, Indiana, is on the left; James Massey, INA Editor-In-Chief, is on the right: Location, at the rooftop party at the Intergalactic Techie Fest) said: "ILM switched to XSI, but everybody has voluntarily put Newtek on their desktop. They use it to work up their ideas quickly so they can show the concepts to the upline decision-makers." Harlan also says he has known Tim since Harlan was 12 years old.

The Newtek/Lightwave offering is in the $2,200 to $6,000 range and includes an add-in card along with a broad pack of software.
